Hornets Improve to 13-5, Celebrate Senior Night

Enumclaw High School's Boys Water Polo Team celebrated Senior Night on Thursday with a 24-3 win over the visiting Emerald Ridge Jaquars.  Seniors Bryce VanHoof, Jack Pugh, and Quinn Warner started the Hornet scoring with VanHoof scoring five, Pugh adding two, and Warner one, in the opening period, for a 8-1 Enumclaw lead after seven minutes of play.

Five Hornets scored in the second quarter, with VanHoof and Pugh each scoring one, and Evan O'Neill, Nathan March, and Kyle Morgan also scoring one goal apiece.  Three more Hornets scored in the third, with Brett Butler, Ethan Horan, and Adam Percival each scoring a goal. In the fourth quarter, five Hornets scored, with Butler, Pugh, and March scoring two goals each, and VanHoof and Morgan scoring one each.

On defense Enumclaw grabbed 26 steals, led by Defender Jack Pugh with 10. Butler had four steals, and senior goalkeeper Austin Kaehn had three, in addition to his 10 saves. VanHoof and Warner had two steals each, and Percival, O'Neill, Horan, Morgan, and March stole one each.

Nine Hornets scored in the win; 10 had steals.

The Hornets are now 13-5, with a 6-2 league record, and have qualified for post-season play.  The Hornets will play in the Region I Regionals on Friday and Saturday, November 7 & 8.  Enumclaw has five regular season games between now and then, traveling to Covington on Thursday, October 23 for a league contest with Kentwood, and hosting Stadium in a non-league game on Saturday, October 25.  Enumclaw finishes the regular season on the road, at Auburn to play Auburn Mountainview on Tuesday, October 28, at Puyallup to face Emerald Ridge on Thursday, October 30, and at Rogers on Thursday, November 6.
