Genai Kerr Brings Water Polo Camp to Auburn

For the fourth time in five years, Olympian Genai Kerr will bring his Nike 5meter Water Polo Camp to the Auburn Pool.

The camp will take place on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the Auburn School District Swimming Pool, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Cost is $100.

An additional camp will take place a day earlier, on Saturday, March 5, at the South Kitsap High School Pool in Port Orchard.

Genai is a USA Water Polo Olympian, coach, mentor, and true ambassador of the sport. He was a member of the United States Men's National Team for 12 years, and played in the 2004 Athens Olympics, 2003 and 2007 Pan American Gold Medal Games, and multiple World Championships.

The camp will provide individualized coaching for water polo athletes of all abilities – whether learning the rules of water polo and how to eggbeater, or preparing for college level competition.

Girls Water Polo Season Starts Monday

Girls High School Water Polo season starts on Monday, February 29, in Washington State, with 27 teams beginning practices for the 2016 season.

Competition will start on Saturday, March 12, with jamborees at Curtis High School in University Place, and Rogers High School in Puyallup. Regular season games will start throughout the State on Tuesday, March 15. Statewide schedules will be posted weekly on this site.

League competition will conclude on May 10. Post-season play will begin on May 20, with Regional Tournaments at Rogers High School and Curtis High School. The State Championship Tournament will be played at Curtis High School May 26-28.

Girls Water Polo Schedule Posted

The Enumclaw High School Girls Water Polo Team has posted their 2016 schedule. The team begins practice on Monday, February 29, and opens competition at the Curtis Jamboree on Saturday, March 12.

The Hornets will play 10 league games, facing each of their five league opponents - Auburn, Auburn Mountainview, Auburn Riverside, Kentridge, and Tahome - twice. They will also play five non-league games, at Gig Harbor, and hosting Puyallup, Stadium, South Kitsap, and Sumner. Additionally, Enumclaw will play in two tournaments - one at Rogers High School, and one at Auburn High school.

The season concludes with Regional Tournaments on May 20 and 21 at Rogers High School and Curtis High School, and the State Championship Tournament at Curtis High School on May 26-28.

Girls Water Polo Pre-Season Meeting Wednesday

The Enumclaw High School Girls Water Polo Team will have a pre-season meeting at the EHS Commons on Wednesday, February 10, after school.

Any girls interested in playing this Spring should attend, or contact the coaches at enumclawpolo@gmail.com. The meeting is a chance to meet with your coaches and teammates, get an advance look at this season's schedule, and plan some team events.

The Lady Hornets will be defending their 2015 league championship, and hope to improve on their fourth place finish at last year's State Championship Tournament.

CWPA Posts NW Division Women's Schedule

The Collegiate Water Polo Association has posted the Northwest Division Women's Club Schedule for 2016.The seven Northwest club teams will play in three tournaments in Washington and Oregon - one each in February March, and April.

The University of Oregon will field two teams this season; the University of Washington, Oregon State, Washington State, Portland State, and Western Washington University will each field a team.

Portland State will host the Division's first tournament at Mt. Hood Community College, in Gresham, OR on February 27 and 28. Oregon State will host the second event March 5 and 6, at OSU's Osborn Aquatic Center in Corvallis, OR.

The Northwest Division Championship will be held on April 16 and 17 at Washington State University in Pullman, WA.

Otters Host Tournament at KCAC This Weekend

The Seattle Otters will host their 20th Annual International Open Water Polo Tournament this weekend, February 6 and 7, at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, WA.

The Otters are a coed masters team that has fielded players of all levels for 25 years, participating in multiple tournaments up and down the West Coast.

The tournament is a USA Water Polo sanctioned event subject to the guidelines as outlined for tournament play by USA Water Polo.
