Enumclaw Beats Auburn 12-4

With a 12-4 win over the Auburn Trojans, the Enumclaw High School Boys Water Polo Team improved their league record to 6-1, and their overall record to 11-4.

Nine Hornets had shot attempts in the win, and six scored, led by captains Bryce VanHoof with six, and Jack Pugh with two.  Also scoring for the Enumclaw squad were Jayson Bates, Austin Kaehn, Ethan Horan, and Quinn Warner, all with one goal each.

Enumclaw outscored the Trojans 3-1 in the opening period, and held Auburn scoreless in the second, while adding another three; the Hornets held a 6-1 lead at halftime. In the third quarter Enumclaw outscored Auburn 4-2, and added two more in the final period, while limiting the Trojans to one.

Enumclaw hosts coach Bob Averill's alma mater, the Spartans of Bainbridge Island, at the Enumclaw Aquatic Center on Friday at 7:30. The Hornets have two home game next week, hosting Kentridge on Tuesday, October 14, and Emerald Ridge on Thursday, October 16. Both games are at 7:30.
