Enumclaw 5-1 in League Play, 10-4 Overall

The Enumclaw Hornets improved their league record to 5-1, and their overall record to 10-4 with a 17-9 win over the visiting Auburn Riverside Ravens on Monday, October 6.

The opening quarter was close, with the teams trading goals in the first five minutes, but Hornet Bryce VanHoof scored two goals in the last 87 seconds of the first quarter to put Enumclaw ahead 4-2 after seven minutes of play.

Four Hornets scored in the second period, as Enumclaw outscored the Ravens 6-4, for a 10-6 halftime advantage. Both teams scored two in the third period, and the Hornets held a 12-8 lead going into the final quarter.

The Hornet defense limited the Ravens to a single goal in the fourth quarter, while Enumclaw added five, for the 17-9 final score.

The Hornet scoring was led by Bryce VanHoof, with 11 goals.  Seniors Quinn Warner and Jack Pugh scored two goals apiece, and sophomore Brett Butler and freshman Ethan Horan scored one each.  Senior goalkeeper Austin Kaehn registered 13 saves.

Enumclaw travels to Auburn to face the Auburn Trojans on Thursday at 8:30, and hosts Bainbridge Island on Friday at 7:30.
