Curtis High School claimed their third consecutive State Championship with a 16-0 win over Gig Harbor in this year's championship game on Saturday. The 2009 final results are: first place – Curtis; second place – Gig Harbor; third place – Auburn Mountainview; fourth place – Wilson; fifth place – Rogers; sixth place – Peninsula; seventh place – Enumclaw; eighth place – Puyallup.
All State teams were named after Saturday's championship game. All State First Team – Clarissa Riches (Wilson), Stephanie Bluhm (Auburn Mountainview), Aundi Ragan (Gig Harbor), Leslie Hughes (Gig Harbor), Kim Latschaw (Curtis), Lauren Christianson (Curtis), and Megan Ernst (Curtis)
All State Second Team – Brianna Sherwood (Wilson), Tess Rumbaugh (Auburn Mountainview), Amanda Nutall (Auburn Mountainview), Lauren Lott (Gig Harbor), Lauren Biggs (Gig Harbor), Rachel Hays (Curtis), Carley Christianson (Curtis)
All State Honorable Mention – Lindsay Bowden (Enumclaw), Lauren Griffin (Puyallup), Amanda Brunswick (Peninsula), Sarah King (Rogers), Rachel Linden (Wilson), Corey Smith (Auburn Mountainview), Melanie Coyne (Gig Harbor), Kate Wagner (Curtis)
Kim Latschaw, of Curtis, received the Outstanding Offensive Player of the Tournament award; Megan Ernst, also of Curtis, received the Outstanding Defensive Player of the Tournament award.
