The Enumclaw High School Girls Water Polo Team suffered a disappointing loss to the Rogers Rams on Friday afternoon, losing a hard-fought game 10-7.The loss put Enumclaw in the consolation game on Saturday, played at 12:45 against the loser of Friday's Puyallup-Peninsula game. The winner of Saturday's game will take home the State's seventh place awatf; the loser will finish eighth in State.
In Friday's action the Rams came out fast, with Rogers' Sarah King scoring three quick goals early in the first quarter. Enumclaw fought back, with goals by Erin Stucker, Lindsay Bowden, and Tianna Hogan to trail the Rams 5-3 at halftime.
The Hornets rallied in the third period to tie the game 6-6, after a goal by Tianna Hogan and two fast break goals by Erin Stucker. But Rogers was able to hold off the gritty Enumclaw team, scoring four goals in the final quarter, while holding the Hornet offense to a single goal by Bowden.
The Hornets now move to the consolation round, and face the loser of Friday's Puyallup-Peninsula game at 12:45 on Saturday.
