The Washington State Boys Water Polo Season enters the post-season on Friday, November 7, with Regional Tournaments taking place at Rogers High School in Puyallup, and Curtis High School in University Place.
The Region I Tournament, with teams from the East Division and the West Division, will take place at Rogers. From the East, Auburn Mountainview, Kentridge, Enumclaw, and Auburn Riverside will take part; representing the West Division will be teams from Wilson, Gig Harbor, Bainbridge Island, and Stadium. Curtis High School will host the Region II Tournament between the North and South Divisions. Bellevue, Mercer Island, Roosevelt, and Newport have advanced from the North, and Curtis, Puyallup, Rogers and Lakes qualified from the South Division.
In the opening round of the Region I Tournament at Rogers, the first game will pit East #2 seed Kentridge against West #3 Bainbridge at 3:00. Game two. at 4:15, will be between Auburn Riverside and Wilson; Enumclaw vs. Gig Harbor at 5:30, and Stadium vs. Auburn Mountainview at 6:45.
Region II, at Curtis, will start with Roosevelt and Puyallup playing at 3:00, and defending State Champion Bellevue facing Lakes at 4:15. Rogers will play Mercer Island at 5:30, and Newport and Curtis will square off at 6:45.
The losing team in each of the first four games at both Regional Tournaments will play a second game
on Friday night. The tournaments are double-elimination – losing two
games will eliminate a team from the State Tournament.
