Both teams' defenses played tough throughout; the score was tied 1-1 after one quarter of play, and 2-2 at halftime. The Spartans scored twice in the third period, while blanking the Hornets. Both teams scored twice in the final frame as Bainbridge held off the Enumclaw squad.
Enumclaw had their opportunities, getting 27 shot attempts, but struggled to hit the back of the goal. Hornet Captain Bryce VanHoof scored three, and Captain Jack Pugh scored one. The Hornets attacking defense grabbed 21 steals, led by VanHoof with six, and goalkeeper Austin Kaehn with five. Kaehn also gathered 12 saves.
The win earned Bainbridge Island a berth at the State Tournament, November 13-15 at Curtis High School in University Place.
