The Enumclaw High School Boys Water Polo Team finished their regular season with win number 17, a 13-8 win over the host Rogers Rams on Thursday night.

The Hornets finished the regular season with a 17-6 record, 7-3 in league play, and enter the Region I Championship as the #3 seed from the East Division.

The Hornets return to Rogers this weekend for the regional tournament, with hopes of advancing to the State Water Polo Championship, held November 13-15 at Curtis High School, in University Place.  Enumclaw opens tournament play on Friday with a 5:30 game against the Gig Harbor Tides.

In Thursday's game, the Hornets took an early 2-0 lead, but Rogers charged back, scoring on their first possession of the second quarter to pull within one, and trading goals with the Hornets through the rest of the first half, for a 7-6 Hornet lead at halftime.  Enumclaw outscored the Rams 4-2 in the third period to take an 11-8 lead, and held the home team scoreless in the final quarter, while scoring twice more, for the 13-8 finish.

Senior Captain Bryce VanHoof led all scorers, scoring 11 for Enumclaw. Sophomore Jayson Bates, and junior Evan O'Neill scored one goal apiece.  The Hornets' attacking defense gathered 20 steals, led by Senior Captains Jack Pugh and VanHoof, with five each. Senior goalkeeper Austin Kaehn grabbed four steals, and 10 saves.  Senior Quinn Warner and freshman Ethan Horan stole two balls, and Bates and freshman Kyle Morgan earned one each.

Tournament results will be posted on this site Friday and Saturday night; game results will be posted at the conclusion of each game on Twitter, @EnumclawPolo.
