Enumclaw Beats Auburn, Improves to 2-0 in League Play

Enumclaw High School's Boys Water Polo Team beat the visiting Auburn Trojans 23-2 on Thursday to improve their league record to 2-0 in the Hornets first home game of the season.

Hornet scoring was led by senior captain Bryce VanHoof, who scored 11 goals in 13 attempts. Seniors Jack Pugh and Quinn Warner each scored four goals, and freshman Kyle Morgan scored three. Brett Butler added one. Goalkeeper Austin Kaehn registered 11 saves, two steals, and two assists in the win.

The Hornet defense attacked the ball at every opportunity; eight Hornets gathered a total of 19 steals, and senior point Jack Pugh distributed the ball well on offense, earning 12 assists.  Eight of the Hornets' 10 field players had shot attempts.

The Hornets compete in the Auburn School District Tournament on Saturday afternoon and face Kentridge at Lindbergh High School on Tuesday night.
