The Enumclaw High School Girls Water Polo Team began league play on Wednesday, March 11 with a 20-4 home victory over the Sumner Spartans. The Hornets had a balanced attack, with all 11 varsity field players scoring, seven players with steals, and six earning assists. Goalkeeper Shaye Hogerhuis had 14 saves in the win.
Scoring for the Hornets were Lindsay Bowden with five goals, Kaitlyn Korsch with four, Liz Schmidt and Amber Morris with two goals each, and Rachel Deonigi, Erin Stucker, Kelsey Sonneson, Brooke and Breanna Flaquinti, and Angie and Kelsey Brazier with one goal each.
In the assists category, Bowden had six, Korsch had three, Brooke Flaquinti and Erin Stucker each had two, and Schmidt, Sonneson, and Hogerhuis one one apiece.
Bowden garnered seven steals, Morris and Stucker each had three, Korsch stole two, and Schmidt, Sonneson, and Kelsey Brazier each had one steal.
The Hornets host the Auburn Riverside Ravens on Friday, March 13 at 4:30.
