The Enumclaw High School Girls Water Polo Team won two games in their first week of competition, beating Auburn Riverside on Tuesday and Tahoma on Thursday.
The Hornets beat a short-handed Auburn Riverside team 15-3 on Tuesday at the Auburn School District Pool. The Ravens had several team members who still hadn't had enough practices to be eligible for Tuesday's game, and only had seven players available against Enumclaw. Seven Hornets scored in the win. Anna Davenport, Grace Rich, and Emilie Weyer each scored three, Morgan Hall and Brandi Meneghini scored two each, and Hannah Simurdak and Kate Meneghjini scored one apiece.
Grace Dorn scored two, and Katie Councilman added one for the Ravens.
On Thursday Enumclaw hosted a much improved Tahoma Bears team, and came away with an 8-2 win.for the second league win of the season. Grace Munnell led all scorers, with four goals. Rich added two, and Davenport and Brandi Meneghini scored a goal each.
For Tahoma, Lindsey Hanger and Nicole McCarthy each scored.
The Hornets continue league play this week, hosting Auburn on Tuesday, and traveling to Auburn on Thursday to face the Auburn Mountainview Lions. On Saturday Enumclaw travels to Gig Harbor for a non-league game against the four-time defending State Champion Tides, at 2:00.
