The Enumclaw High School Girls Water Polo Team returned to competition on Tuesday after a two week break since their last game.  The Hornets beat Stadium 14-13 at the Enumclaw Aquatic Center.

The game started out fast, with Hornet Hayley Sonneson scoring 16 seconds into the game.  Stadium's Megan Winje tied the game 12 seconds later, and the Tigers took a 2-1 lead two minutes into the period.  Bailey Sexton scored one, and Megan Lesmeister added two, to give the Hornets a 5-4 advantage at the end of the opening period.

The second quarter was all Enumclaw, with the Hornets scoring five, and holding Stadium to a single goal, for a 10-5 Enumclaw lead at halftime.  Both teams' defenses tightened during the third quarter, with the Hornets held scoreless and Stadium adding two goals.

Stadium scored quickly in the final quarter, when Nonie-Ann Grant scored on a penalty shot 19 seconds into the quarter to bring the Tigers within two of the Hornets, 8-10.  The two teams traded goals through the first three minutes of the final period, until Stadium's Amber Longrie scored with 3:21 left in the game to give the Tigers a 12-11 lead.

Freshman Grace Sales scrambled to score from the left post with 2:54 left to tie the game, and Bella Davenport canned a lob from the right side, to give the Hornets a 13-12 lead with 1:45 left.  Stadium's Longrie scored with 1:32 to tie it up, but Davenport scored again with 56 seconds left for the win.

Bella Davenport and Megan Lesmeister each scored four goals for the Hornets.  Bailey Sexton added three, Hayley Sonneson scored two, and Grace Sales scored one.

Goalkeeping duties were shared between Lauren Pratt and Megan Lesmeister; Pratt had seven saves, and Lesmeister had four.
