The Enumclaw High School Water Polo programs will start summer workouts on June 30. Summer workouts are intended for students who are planning to play for EHS during the 2009-2010 school year, and will be open to both boys and girls. High school boys planning on playing this fall are strongly encouraged to attend. Middle school players are also welcome. Summer workouts will cost $3 per workout.
Workouts will be on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, from 7:30 to 9:30. There will not be any practice during the last week of July.
If there is enough interest, we may be able to schedule some summer league water polo games against neighboring programs.

Introductory Water Polo Clinic Starts Tuesday
The Enumclaw Aquatic Center will host an Introductory Water Polo Clinic on Tuesday, June 23rd through Friday, June 26th. The clinic will be conducted by EHS coaches Bob Averill and Ken DeMan, and members of the Enumclaw High School Water Polo Teams.
The clinic is intended for middle school boys and girls with little or no water polo experience, but will also be open to high school boys and girls with less than one year of water polo playing experience,
The clinic will take place from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., and will cost $60. Each participant will receive a water polo ball and a T-shirt.

Two Plateau Athletes Named to Collegiate Water Polo Association Scholar-Athlete Team
The Collegiate Water Polo Association named two Plateau area athletes to the Scholar-Athlete Team for the 2008-2009 academic year.
Elise Averill, a 2005 graduate from Enumclaw High School, and Sarah Henneford, a 2005 graduate from Sumner High School, were honored with the award by maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or better throughout the year.
Averill and Henneford were captains on the Western Washington University women’s water polo team and finished their fourth year of play with the Viking Water Polo Team. Both played for their high school teams for four years and were high school team captains during their senior seasons.
Averill is the daughter of Bob Averill of Enumclaw, and Claudia Johns, of Kent, and graduated June 13 with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science, specializing in pre-physical therapy. Henneford is the daughter of Dennis and Kathy Henneford, of Sumner, and will graduate in 2010 with a degree in Environmental Science.
