Enumclaw Beats Auburn Mountainview 22-9
The Enumclaw High School Girls Water Polo Team traveled to Auburn on Tuesday and beat the Auburn Mountainview Lions 22-9.
The Hornet offense lit up the scoreboard, with six players scoring in the win. Enumclaw's defense helped lead the way, limiting the Lions' high-powered offense to nine goals with 27 steals and 12 saves in goal.
Katie Larrea led all scorers, with 10 goals. Allie Larrea scored four, and Hannah Kinniburgh scored three. Annie Birklid and Hayley Sonneson each added two goals, and Bailey Sexton scored one.
On defense, Allie Larrea led the way with 15 steals. Katie Larrea and Sonneson each had four, and Bella Davenport and Kinniburgh had two steals each. Goalkeeper Megan Lesmeister earned 12 saves.
The Hornets have improved their league record to 4-0 going into next week's Spring Break. They return to action on Tuesday, April 10 against Auburn Riverside at the Auburn Pool. The Hornets host Peninsula on Thursday, April 12 at the Enumclaw Aquatic Center.

Hornets Improve to 3-0
The EHS Girls Water Polo Team improved their league record to 3-0 with a 20-0 win over Bonney Lake/Sumner on Monday, March 26 at the Enumclaw Aquatic Center.
The Hornets' scoring was led by Katie Larrea, with seven goals. Annie Birklid scored five, Allie Larrea and Bella Davenport added three goals each, and Hannah Kinniburgh scored two.
Enumclaw's defense gathered 41 steals, led by Allie Larrea's 17. Megan Lesmeister had 10 saves in the goal.
The Hornets travel to Auburn on Tuesday to face the Auburn Mountainview Lions. Game time is 7:30.

Enumclaw's Girls Water Polo Team earned their second league win of the 2012 season with a decisive 23-6 win over the Auburn Trojans on Tuesday at the Enumclaw Aquatic Center.
The Hornets got off to a 6-2 lead during the first quarter, led by senior captain Hannah Kinniburgh's two goals. Also scoring in the opening quarter was the Hornet's other senior captain – Annie Birklid – and Bella Davenport, Allie Larrea, and Haley Sonneson.
The Hornets scored 11 in the second quarter, led by freshman Bailey Sexton, with five goals. Kinniburgh, Birklid, Davenport, and Allie Larrea also scored in the second. Enumclaw turned off the gas in the second half, scoring two in the third period, and four in the fourth.

Hornets Open League Play with Win

The Hornets got off to a fast start, with Katie Larrea scoring two fast break goals in the first two minutes of play. Senior Annie Birklid scored from center two minutes later, and Enumclaw held a 3-0 advantage after one quarter.
Katie Larrea scored again during the second period, giving Enumclaw a 4-0 lead at halftime.
The Enumclaw offense revved up in the third period, with Hannah Kinniburgh scoring twice in the first minute of play, and Katie Larrea adding three more and Allie Larrea scoring one, to give the Hornets a 10-0 lead going into the final period.

Bonney Lake/Sumner Game Re-Scheduled
The Girls Water Polo Game that was originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 13 has been re-scheduled for Monday, March 26 at the Enumclaw Aquatic Center. Game time will be 8:30 p.m.
The earlier scheduled game had been canceled due to lack of officials available at the earlier start time.
The Hornets start league play on Friday, March 16 at the Covington Pool, against Kentridge.

Due to a lack of available officials, Tuesday's (March 13) Girls Water Polo Game against Bonney Lake/Sumner will be postponed to another date. Check this web site for the re-scheduled game time.
Hornets Win Three at Jamboree
The Enumclaw High School Girls Water Polo Team traveled to Lakes High School, in Lakewood, WA on Saturday, March 10, and earned three wins at the South Sound Water Polo Jamboree. Each contest at the jamboree was half the length of a regular season game – two seven-minute periods.
The Hornets faced the Emerald Ridge Jaguars in their first game of the jamboree. The Hornets took a commanding 8-0 lead in the opening period, and finished with a 12-1 victory. Katie Larrea was the leading scorer, with five goals; Hannah Knniburgh, Annie Birklid, and Allie Larrea scored two goals each, and Haley Sonneson added a goal.
In Enumclaw's second contest, the Hornets beat Rogers 17-1 after holding a 12-0 advantage after one period. Katie Larrea again led all scorers, with five goals. Annie Birklid scored four, Allie Larrea scored three, Hannah Kinniburgh and Bella Davenport added two each, and Haley Sonneson scored one goal.
The Lady Hornets beat Puyallup 14-0 in their final game of the day. Enumclaw held a 4-0 lead after the first period before going on a 10-0 tear in the second period for the 14-0 shutout. Katie Larrea scored four goals in the win; Allie Larrea and Anie Birklid scored three goals each, Bailey Sexton scored two, and Hannah Kinniburgh and Bella Davenport scored one goal apiece. Goalkeeper Megan Lesmeister registered the shutout.
The Hornets played the tournament with only eight players eligible; all seven of the field players scored in the tournament.
