Enumclaw High School senior Lindsay Bowden received Academic All-American honors this summer for the 2008-2009 school year from USA Water Polo.
Academic All-Americans must be current USA Water Polo members, have competed in a USA Water Polo National Event, and maintained a 3.6 grade point average or better during the school year.
Bowden, a senior driver for Enumclaw High School’s water polo team, has competed at USA Water Polo’s Junior Olympics for the past three years as a member of the Tacoma-based Puget Sound Polo club team.
In a statement from USA Water Polo, Membership Services Coordinator Drew Willems praised all the Academic All-American award recipients, “Achieving success both in the classroom and in the pool takes a great deal of dedication and focus. Maintaining a high GPA, while also committing yourself to a sport as demanding as water polo is an amazing feat and is recognized in the eyes of many in the water polo community.”
Bowden is a captain on both Enumclaw High School’s Swim & Dive and Water Polo teams, and is the daughter of Carolyn Bowden of Black Diamond and Gary Bowden of Maple Valley.

First Game Scheduled for August 27
The Enumclaw High School Boys Water Polo Team has scheduled their first game of the 2009 season – on Thursday, August 27, we'll team up with the Girls Swim & Dive Team for an evening of laser tag, at Laser Quest in Federal Way.
Game time is scheduled for 5:00 p.m., and the cost will be $14. All players interested in taking part should meet at the Enumclaw Pool at 3:50 p.m. on Thursday in order to leave for Laser Quest at 4:00.
This is a fun, optional event, but is a great opportunity for the team to get to know each other, and for the aquatics programs to support each other. If you have any questions, contact coach Bob.
