The Hornets have been seeded in Group C in the opening round of Group play, held next Wednesday, May 15, and will play Wednesday's games at Lakes High School, in Lakewood, WA. They will play a Wild Card team at 5:20, and the three-time defending State Champion Gig Harbor Tides at 7:40. Their Wild Card opponent will be one of either Puyallup, Emerald Ridge, Bainbridge Island, Bellevue, Stadium, or Peninsula, and will be determined by play at this weekend's Wild Card Tournament, held at Lakes High School.
If the Hornets place in the top two of their group, they will advance to quarter-final action on Friday, May 17, at Curtis High School, in University Place, WA. A third place finish in their group would send the Hornets to a consolation game on Thursday, May 16, at Lakes High School.
All of the 12 teams advancing to the State tournament will play at least one game on the final day – Saturday, May 18 – at Curtis High School.
This is the eighth consecutive year that Enumclaw has advanced a girls water polo team to the State tournament. Last year the Hornets finished third at State.
