The Enumclaw High School Girls Water Polo Team won their fifth game in a row on Wednesday, beating the Auburn Trojans 16-2 in a league game held at the Enumclaw Aquatic Center.
The Hornets controlled the game from the opening sprint, scoring on their first possession, on a goal by Lindsay Bowden nine seconds into the game. The stingy Hornet defense, led by goalkeeper Shaye Hogerhuis, held the Trojans to one goal in each half; the Enumclaw offense had six players score, led by Bowden's seven goals.
Also scoring for Enumclaw were Ali Ballard, with three goals, Kelsey Sonneson and Erin Stucker with two goals each, and Rose Johnson and Annie Birklid with a goal apiece.
The Hornets travel to Gig Harbor on Friday to face the Peninsula Seahawks in a league game, and host the Gig Harbor Tides in a non-league game on Saturday at 12:30, at the Enumclaw Pool.
