Enumclaw's Girls Water Polo Team earned their second league win of the 2012 season with a decisive 23-6 win over the Auburn Trojans on Tuesday at the Enumclaw Aquatic Center.
The Hornets got off to a 6-2 lead during the first quarter, led by senior captain Hannah Kinniburgh's two goals. Also scoring in the opening quarter was the Hornet's other senior captain – Annie Birklid – and Bella Davenport, Allie Larrea, and Haley Sonneson.
The Hornets scored 11 in the second quarter, led by freshman Bailey Sexton, with five goals. Kinniburgh, Birklid, Davenport, and Allie Larrea also scored in the second. Enumclaw turned off the gas in the second half, scoring two in the third period, and four in the fourth.
Birklid and Sexton led all scorers, with five goals each. Also scoring for Enumclaw were Kinniburgh, with four goals, Allie Larrea and Bella Davenport with three goals each, Haley Sonneson with two, and Katie Larrea with one. Megan Lesmeister earned ten saves in the goal.
The Hornets host Bonney Lake/Sumner on Monday night at 8:30, and travel to Auburn to face Auburn Mountainview on Tuesday at 7:30.
The Hornets are 2-0 in league play.
