On Tuesday, the Hornets traveled to Auburn to face league rival Auburn Mountainview, and came home with a 17-6 win over the Lions. Fueled by Anna Davenport's six steals in the opening quarter, the Hornets shot off to a 6-0 lead in the first seven minutes. Eight Hornets scored in the win. led by Davenport's four goals. Sierra Clough scored three, Hannah Simurdak, Bailey Sexton, Brandi Meneghini, and Grace Sales each scored two goals, and Hayley Sonneson and Lindsay Harms added one apiece.
Julie Howe scored five, and Natalie Hayes scored one for the Lions.
Wednesday the Lady Hornets hosted Kentridge for their sixth league game of the short season, and beat the visitors 18-3. Ten Hornets scored, led by Sexton, with four goals. Also scoring for Enumclaw were Grace Munnell, with three goals, and Sonneson, Simurdak, and Davenport, with two each. Grace Rich, Harms, Sales, Meneghini, and goalkeeper Lauren Pratt each scored a goal.
Kentridge's Emily Halverson, Christine Sizemore, and Lauren Cox each scored a goal.
Enumclaw is now 5-1 in league play, and takes a break from league competition for the next week, as they host Rogers next Wednesday, and visit Emerald Ridge on Thursday, before traveling to Lakewood on April 11 and 12 for the Lakes Invitational, where the Hornets will face some strong non-league competition, including defending State Champion Gig Harbor, Chehalem, OR, Lakes, and Newport. The Hornets return to league play a week from Tuesday, when they host Auburn Riverside on Tuesday, April 14 at 7:30.
