The EHS Girls Water Polo Team finished this week 2-0 in league play before dropping a non-league game on Thursday to State Runner-Up Gig Harbor.
The Lady Hornets returned from Spring Break on Monday to face Sumner, and rallied for a 9-5 Enumclaw win. The Spartans scored first, after a five minute 0-0 deadlock, and maintained the lead well into the second quarter, but the Hornets scored four goals in the last three minutes of the first half, to take a 6-3 lead into halftime. Enumclaw outscored Sumner 3-2 in the second half, for the 9-5 final score. Bailey Sexton led all scorers with seven goals; Anna Davenport and Hayley Sonneson scored one each.
On Tuesday Enumclaw traveled to Auburn, and beat the Trojans 19-2. Seven Hornets scored in the win, led by Anna Davenport's six goals. Bailey Sexton added four, Hannah Simurdak three, and Grace Sales and Sieraa Clough, two each. Madi Woodall and Hayley Sonneson scored one each.
Thursday the Hornets faced Gig Harbor. The short-handed Hornets borrowed Gig Harbor's starting goalie for the contest, officially rendering the game an Enumclaw forfeit. But the teams played on, ending with an 18-4 Gig Harbor win. Hayley Sonneson scored three in the Hornet loss. Bailey Sexton scored one.
The Hornets have four games next week, hosting Rogers on Tuesday at 7:30, traveling to Auburn Mountainview on Wednesday for a 3:30 game, and Auburn Riverside on Thursday at 7:30. Enumclaw travels to Newport on Saturday for a 2:30 game.
