The Enumclaw Boys Water Polo Team played two games at the Enumclaw Aquatic Center on Saturday, October 3, and won both, to improve their league record to 3-3, 4-3 overall.
In their first game, at 12:30, the Hornets beat league opponent Stadium 15-7. Enumclaw controlled the game from the beginning, scoring on their first possession on a goal by Garrett Hall.
Scoring for Enumclaw in the win were Bennon VanHoof with four goals, Logan Ross with three, Hall, Travis Culp, and Will Skelley with two goals each, and Alex Stopsack and Gabe Sales with one goal apiece. On defense, goalkeeper Josh Musick gathered 22 saves, and Travis Culp snagged seven steals.
In the Hornets' 2:30 contest, Enumclaw beat the Mark Morris Monarchs 12-8, again taking the lead early, scoring on a penalty drawn during the opening sprint. Enumclaw had scoring from five players, including VanHoof with four goals, Hall with three, Ross and Travis Culp with two goals each, and Zach Petersen with one. Musick had another standout performance in the goal, with 17 saves and two steals, and Ross led the team in steals for the game with eight.
The Hornets next opponent will be league rival Auburn Mountainview, when Enumclaw hosts the Lions on Tuesday, at the Enumclaw Aquatic Center at 4:30.
