The Enumclaw Aquatic Center will have Open Pool Water Polo this Summer from 8:00-9:30 p.m. several nights during June and July. The workouts are open to all middle school and high school boys and girls who are interested in learning and practicing water polo skills in preparation for next year's high school water polo seasons.

Gig Harbor Claims State Title
The Gig Harbor Tides claimed the Washington State Girls Water Polo Championship on Saturday for the third consecutive year. The Tides earned the title with a 7-2 win over the Curtis Vikings in Saturday night's Championship Game.
Earlier in the day, Newport beat Bellevue to claim third place in State.

The 2016 Washington State High School Girls Water Polo Championship Game is set: Gig Harbor will face Curtis to determine the Washington State Champion on Saturday, May 28 at 7:00 pm.
The two teams advanced to the Championship Game with wins in Friday's semi-final games - Gig Harbor with a 13-4 win over Bellevue, Curtis beating Newport 13-5.
In earlier action on Friday, Puyallup beat Lakes 13-3, and Mercer Island beat Enumclaw in a dramatic 5-4 overtime win. On Saturday morning, Puyallup will face Newport, and Mercer Island will play Bellevue. The winners of those games will play off later Saturday for 3rd/4th place. The losing teams will play later Saturday for 5th/6th place.
At 1:00 Saturday, Enumclaw and Lakes will play for 7th/8th place.

State Tournament Advances to Round Two
Round one of the 2016 Washington State Water Polo Tournament concluded on Thursday with four teams winning in the first round, and hopes to advance to Saturday's Championship Game.
Bellevue, Gig Harbor, Newport, and Curtis all won on Thursday, and will play in Friday's semi-final games.
The four teams that lost on Thursday will continue play, as well, and can finish as high as third place in the tournament. Puyallup and Lakes will face each other in Friday's first second round game; Enumclaw and Mercer Island will play in the second game of the day.

State Tournament Starts Today
Thursday's opening round consists of four games, with eight teams vying for the chance to advance to Saturday's Championship Game.
The second seed from Region II, Puyallup, will face Bellevue, the third seed from Region I, in Game 1 at 3:30. In Thursday's second game, defending State Champion and current West Division and Region I Champion, Gig Harbor, will face the #4 seed from Region II, Lakes at 5:00. At 6:30 East Division Champion Enumclaw and North Division Champion Newport will square off. Thursday's final game, at 8:00 will feature host team and West Division and Region II Champ Curtis versus Mercer Island.
All teams will play in Friday's second round action, and in at least one game on Saturday. Thursday's first round winners will play in Friday's semi-final games for the opportunity to advance to Saturday's Championship Game.

State Tournament Lineup is Set
Girls water polo Regional Tournaments in Washington State have concluded, and eight teams have qualified for next week's State Tournament.
Gig Harbor claimed the Region I Championship, and Newport took second place. Bellevue earned the 3rd seed, and Mercer Island was fourth in Region I.
In Region II, Curtis claimed the title, Puyallup took second, Enumclaw third, and Lakes fourth.

Day Two of Regional Tournaments
Girls water polo season enters the second day of Regional Tournament play on Saturday, with four teams already clinching State berths. In the Region I tournament, Gig Harbor and Newport have won their way to the Regional Championship Game on Saturday, and clinched berths in next weekend's State Tournament.

In Region II, Curtis and Puyallup have advanced to Saturday's Regional Championship Game, qualifying both teams for State.
The first two games at each tournament on Saturday will have the four teams that lost their opening round games playing for the opportunity to continue. The losing teams in those games will be eliminated from post-season play.
The third and fourth games of the day will include teams that lost Friday's second round of play, and will also be loser-out games. The Regional Championship Game at each site will be at 4:30, and the games for 3rd place/4th place are scheduled to start at 6:00.
The top four teams from each Regional tournament will advance to the State Tournament.
