The Enumclaw Pool will have supervised "open-gym" style water polo workouts throughout the Spring, from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. Workouts will be supervised by Enumclaw High School water polo coaches, and are open to all middle school and high school age boys. Workouts cost $3 each and will be held on the following dates:

Girls Water Polo Starts March 1
The Enumclaw High School Girls Water Polo Team starts their 12th year of competition on Monday, March 1. The team will practice after school at the Enumclaw Pool, and will host nine games at their home pool.
The Hornets will begin competition at a jamboree at Wilson High School on Saturday, March 13. League competition will open on Monday, March 22 when the Hornets host Auburn Riverside in a game scheduled to start at 4:30.
The Hornets are scheduled to play ten league games and nine non-league games during the 2010 season, and hope to end the season with their fifth consecutive trip to the State Tournament.
Water Polo Clinic at Auburn Pool
The Auburn Riverside High School Water Polo Program will be hosting their second annual Water Polo Specialty Camp on Friday, February 19 and Saturday, February 20. The camp is hosted by Auburn Riverside coach Mike Van Eaton, and will feature former U.S. National Team members Peter Sabbatini and Elyse Colgan. Both Sabbatini and Colgan played collegiate polo at Princeton University.
The clinic will offer position-specific instruction for goalkeepers, centers, center defenders, and drivers, and will consist of nine hours of in-water instruction over two days.
The first session will start at 6 p.m. Friday and conclude at 9 p.m. Saturday's instruction will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. All three sessions are included in the $75 price. The clinic will offer a $10 discount to a participating sibling.

The University of Washington will host the second tournament of the Women's Northwest Division of the Collegiate Water Polo Association on February 13 & 14 at Curtis High School in University Place, WA.

Otter Water Polo Tournament at KCAC
The Seattle Otters will be hosting their 14th Annual International Open Water Polo Tournament this weekend, on Friday, February 5 through Sunday, February 7 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, WA.
Masters water polo teams from Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, British Columbia, and Alberta will compete in three divisions – Women, Co-ed, and Open.
Locally, teams from Auburn, Puget Sound Polo, Seattle, and the University of Washington will be competing.
Tournament action will start at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, and finish around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Saturday's action will run from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Sunday's games will start at 7:00 a.m. and conclude around 3:30 p.m.
There is no charge for admission to the tournament.

Collegiate Water Polo Results
Two Plateau area athletes took part in a Northwest Division Collegiate Water Polo tournament last weekend, January 23 and 24, at Central Washington University, in Ellensburg, WA.
Sarah Henneford, a 2005 graduate from Sumner High School, and Brooke Flaquinti, a 2009 graduate from Enumclaw High School, play for the Western Washington University women’s water polo team. Henneford and Flaquinti both played for their high school teams for four years. Henneford is a senior at WWU, and a team captain; Flaquinti is a WWU freshman, playing her first year of collegiate water polo.
Henneford is the daughter of Dennis and Kathy Henneford, of Sumner, and will graduate in 2010 with a degree in Environmental Science. Flaquinti is the daughter of Annette and Joseph Flaquinti of Enumclaw, WA.
The WWU Vikings finished the weekend tournament with three wins and one loss.
In Saturday’s action, WWU started the tournament with a loss to the University of Oregon “A” team, 18-1, but beat Oregon “B” 8-6 later in the afternoon. On Sunday the Vikings beat Western Oregon 14-7 in the morning, and closed the tournament with an afternoon win over Central Washington University, 18-5.
The Northwest Division of the Collegiate Water Polo Associated has seven women’s teams, including two teams each from the University of Oregon, and teams from the University of Washington, Oregon State University, Western Oregon University, Central Washington University, and Western Washington University.
Currently, WWU is in third place in the Northwest Division, behind defending champion Oregon “A”, and Oregon State University.
The teams will take part in another tournament next month, hosted by the University of Washington on February 13 & 14, at the Curtis High School pool, in University Place, WA. The Northwest Division Championships will be hosted by the University of Oregon on March 6 & 7 at Willamalane Swim Center in Springfield, Oregon.
The division champion will represent the Northwest Division at the National Collegiate Water Polo Championships on April 23 through 25, hosted by the University of Arizona, in Tucson, Arizona.
